17-176316 Kohls 7651 Youree Drive

On October 21, 2018 just before 9:00 pm Shreveport Police responded to reports of a shoplifting at Kohls Department Store in the 7600 block of Youree Drive. Officers contacted an employee who advised that he witnessed two black females conceal undisclosed items on their person then exited the store without paying for the items. One of the females was described as wearing a red hat and white shirt and was said to have a light complexion. The second female was described as dark complected with a blue jean jacket. When the employee confronted the suspects they fled the store in a maroon Saturn Ion.

Police search for robbery suspect that targets elderly women

Detectives with Shreveport Police Department’s Tactical Robbery Unit are searching for a suspect believed responsible for multiple persons robberies at local businesses.

The robberies began in late January on Line Avenue and the last documented robbery occurred last night in the 4600 block of Monkhouse Drive. The suspect initially approached the female victims from behind and would knock them to the ground and take their purses. The suspect has become more violent in the last incidents and is now using a baseball bat to strike his victims and take their purses. On at least one occasion, the suspect took the victim’s car, which was later recovered. The suspect is described as a black male who is approximately 6’00” tall and weighs around 170 pounds. He has worn a black hoodie pulled over his head during the robberies.

The Shreveport police Department is urging everyone to use extra caution, especially when on the parking lots of businesses. Always be alert, keep your head up with keys in hand. Visually scan the parking lot before exiting the business. Please do not allow yourself to be distracted by a cell phone or other things. If you see something suspicious, return to the store and call 911. We are also urging businesses to keep an extra watchful eye on their parking lots and if they see anything suspicious report it to police immediately.

17-172668 Homicide

On October 15, 2017 just before 8:00 p.m. Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to University Health Hospital on reports of 19-year-old Cameron Lee, of the 5600 block of Kent Avenue, arriving at the emergency room with at least one stab wound to the torso. Officers learned that the Lee was in serious condition and was immediately taken into surgery but later succumbed to his injuries.

Officers were able to locate the crime scene at a residence in the 5600 block of Kent Avenue. Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit were called to the scene and immediately began their investigation. Investigators learned that Lee had a visitor arrive at his residence just before the stabbing. The visitor, who was wearing all black, was later seen running from the residence. Witnesses found the male victim and rushed him to University Health Hospital via private vehicle.

Investigators have released video footage of the person they believe responsible for the murder of Cameron Lee.

18-005413 USA Pawn

300 block of Sage Hill Road

On November 25, 2017 these two bandits were caught on camera pulling on door handles in the 300 block of Sage Hill Road. The only thing that saved the owner’s property was his diligence in keeping his vehicles locked.

Rocketfast Car Wash Mansfied Road

On December 18, 2017 a masked individual, armed with a handgun entered the Rocketfast Carwash on Mansfield Road and demanded money from the manager. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the business in the manager’s Gray Ford Escape.

17-200245 Armed Robbery Family Dollar 9400 Linwood Avenue

On December 3, 2017 two suspects entered the Family Dollar Department Store and robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of money. The store clerks were outside of the business on break when they were approached by two males armed with handguns. The males forced the employees into the store then ordered them to give them money from the register and safe. The incident was captured on the stores video surveillance system.

17-200072 Uhaul Storage 9300 block of Mansfield Road

On December 3, 2017 Uhaul Storage in the 9300 block of Mansfield Road reported an attempted burglary of one of their storage units. The suspect was captured on the store’s surveillance video. The suspect appeared to be a white male with a dark colored beard wearing a red t-shirt and dark colored pants. He was wearing a bucket hat and carrying a lime green and black backpack. The suspect entered the facility and began attempting to pry one of the storage room doors open when the alarm sounded and scared him off. There were no items taken in the burglary attempt.

17-190653 &0th Street Corner Store 600 block of East 70th Street

On November 16, 2017 two suspects attempted to make entry into the 70th Street Corner Store in the 600 block of East 70th Street. The two suspects were captured on video approaching the front of the business. One suspect struck the front glass door at least three times which broke the glass. The alarm sounded and the suspects fled without making entry into the business.

17-199756 Family Dollar 6300 Jefferson Paige Road

On December 2, 2017 two suspects entered the Family Dollar Department Store in the 6300 block of Jefferson Paige Road and allegedly robbed the clerks of an undisclosed amount of money. Both suspects were wearing dark colored clothing and were armed with handguns. One suspect stood watch at the door while the other suspect took money from the clerk.
