Police ask public’s help to identify burglars

Shreveport Police are asking for help to identify a pair of bandits caught on video burglarizing a west Shreveport apartment complex.

On September 29, 2018, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to reports of a silent alarm in the 2600 block of Silver Pines Boulevard at the South Pointe Apartment Complex. Arriving officers found that the business had been forcibly entered, causing moderate damage. The property was equipped with a video surveillance system that captured the crime on video.

Investigators with the Property Crimes Unit were assigned to the case and were able to secure the video footage. Security cameras showed what appeared to be two males entering the business. One male appeared to be wearing a short-sleeved blue shirt, khaki pants, and light colored gloves and the other was wearing red shoes, black clothing, a camouflage cap, and black gloves.

Police ask help to identify home burglars

Shreveport Police are searching for two men who broke into an east Shreveport residence last week.

On November 21, 2018, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a home burglary in the 2600 block of Sevier Street. Arriving officers found the residence forcible entered and learned that a firearm and other undisclosed items were taken from within the residence. The home was equipped with video surveillance cameras that subsequently captured the crime on video. Investigators with the Property Crimes Unit were assigned to the case and collected the video. They have released the video in hopes that our neighbors can help us identify those responsible for this crime.

Police search for man accused of impersonating a law enforcement official

Shreveport Police are searching for a man who falsely identified himself as a law enforcement official following a traffic incident in north Shreveport.

On September 26, 2018, the victim advised that he was travelling along the 1300 block of North Market Street when he was flagged over by a black Dodge pickup. The white male driver of the vehicle exited and made contact with the driver advising him that he was a law enforcement officer and that the victim had cut him off. The white male suspect then pretended to check the victim for warrants. There was at least one other person in the suspect’s black truck. Following the encounter, the suspect got back into his truck and fled the scene.

Police seek to identify car thieves

Shreveport Police are searching for two individuals believed responsible for stealing a vehicle in east Shreveport.

On September 13, 2018, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to investigate reports of an auto theft in the 1100 block of South Pointe Place on reports of an auto theft. Officers learned that two unknown black males allegedly took a dark gray 2017 Nissan sedan without permission from the owner. The vehicle was located a short time later at the corner of East Topeka Street and Easy Street. Undisclosed items were taken from within.

Investigators with the Property Crimes Unit recovered the video and have made a portion of it available to the public in hopes of getting the duo identified.

Police seek identity of burglar

Shreveport Police are searching for a man believed responsible for a residential burglary attempt in west Shreveport.

On September 13, 2018, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to investigate reports of an attempted burglary in the 5600 block South Lakeshore Drive. Officers learned that an unknown black male attempted to enter a residence in the block and the home was equipped with video surveillance cameras.

Investigators with the Property Crimes Unit recovered the video and have made portions of it available to the public in hopes of getting the man identified. The man was described as a thin built male wearing all black clothing and white shoes.

Home Burglary 6300 Dianne Street 18-117717

Home burglars caught on camera

On July 18, 2018, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to reports of a home burglary in the 6300 block of Dianne Street. The homeowner reported that his home was entered without permission and undisclosed items of value taken from inside. The burglary was captured on video. The footage shows two black males exiting the rear portion of the property and entering into a black four-door car.

Verizon Store 6300 Youree Drive 18-119972

Police seek identity of accused shoplifters

On July 22, 2018, an employee of the Verizon Store in the 6300 block of Youree Drive reported two iPhones valued at over $1,800 stolen from the business.

The clerk advised that two men entered the store and went to the iPhone display rack. He watched one of the suspects tamper with the display and approached them. The suspect had loosened one of the iPhone display holders and had the phone in his hand. When he approached the suspect, the suspect handed him a cell phone then left the store. After the suspects left the business the clerk realized that the phone he had been handed was fake. Two iPhones were stolen during the incident

At Home Store 1700 East 70th Street 18-072231

Police seek to identify shoplifting duo

On May 4, 2018, just after 10:00 a.m., two women arrived at the At Home Store in the 1300 block of East 70th Street in a burgundy Chrysler 300. Both were black females, one wearing a white blouse and black shorts and the second wearing a red scarf on her head a blue blouse, and red pants. They entered the business and worked together to take a cart full of merchandise. The female in the white shirt was leaving the store with the loot when a female employee confronted her and tried to grab the buggy. The suspect sprayed the employee with pepper spray and both females fled the scene in the burgundy Chrysler. The merchandise was valued at approximately $200.00.

Police ask public’s help to identify robbery suspect

Shreveport Police are seeking to identify a man believed responsible for the armed robbery of a west Shreveport hotel yesterday afternoon.

On August 2, 2018, just after 3:00 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the 5100 block of Monkhouse Drive at Siegel Suites on reports of an armed robbery that just occurred. Arriving officers learned that a male entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded money from the front desk clerk. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot toward the Waffle House Restaurant. Police searched for the suspect for nearly an hour but were unable to locate him.

Investigators with the Tactical Robbery Unit responded to the scene and were able to collect video evidence from the business. They are releasing photos extracted from that video in hopes of getting the suspect identified.

Police seek identity of burglars

On July 21, 2018, Shreveport Police received reports of a vehicle burglary. The victim reported that he had been on vacation and returned to find his vehicle burglarized and a gun taken from within.

Investigators assigned to the case were able to retrieve video from the victim’s home surveillance cameras. The burglary occurred on July 14, 2018. The video shows a black male exit a van/suv and approach the victim’s vehicle. The suspect entered the truck through an unlocked door and immediately located and took a handgun and returned to the van/suv. Another black male entered the driver’s side of the vehicle and began plundering through the contents. The suspect that initially entered the vehicle returned to the car and helped the second suspect continue to rummage through the vehicle. The van proceeded down the street and the two suspects eventually left on foot.
