At Home Store 1700 East 70th Street 18-072231

Police seek to identify shoplifting duo

On May 4, 2018, just after 10:00 a.m., two women arrived at the At Home Store in the 1300 block of East 70th Street in a burgundy Chrysler 300. Both were black females, one wearing a white blouse and black shorts and the second wearing a red scarf on her head a blue blouse, and red pants. They entered the business and worked together to take a cart full of merchandise. The female in the white shirt was leaving the store with the loot when a female employee confronted her and tried to grab the buggy. The suspect sprayed the employee with pepper spray and both females fled the scene in the burgundy Chrysler. The merchandise was valued at approximately $200.00.

Police ask public’s help to identify robbery suspect

Shreveport Police are seeking to identify a man believed responsible for the armed robbery of a west Shreveport hotel yesterday afternoon.

On August 2, 2018, just after 3:00 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the 5100 block of Monkhouse Drive at Siegel Suites on reports of an armed robbery that just occurred. Arriving officers learned that a male entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded money from the front desk clerk. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot toward the Waffle House Restaurant. Police searched for the suspect for nearly an hour but were unable to locate him.

Investigators with the Tactical Robbery Unit responded to the scene and were able to collect video evidence from the business. They are releasing photos extracted from that video in hopes of getting the suspect identified.

Police seek identity of burglars

On July 21, 2018, Shreveport Police received reports of a vehicle burglary. The victim reported that he had been on vacation and returned to find his vehicle burglarized and a gun taken from within.

Investigators assigned to the case were able to retrieve video from the victim’s home surveillance cameras. The burglary occurred on July 14, 2018. The video shows a black male exit a van/suv and approach the victim’s vehicle. The suspect entered the truck through an unlocked door and immediately located and took a handgun and returned to the van/suv. Another black male entered the driver’s side of the vehicle and began plundering through the contents. The suspect that initially entered the vehicle returned to the car and helped the second suspect continue to rummage through the vehicle. The van proceeded down the street and the two suspects eventually left on foot.

2500 Dr Martin Luther King Drive Auto Theft

On June 21, 2108, a man reported his car stolen from a convenience store in the 2500 block of Dr Martin Luther King Drive. The owner of the vehicle left the vehicle running at the gas pump as while he entered the business. The video surveillance footage shows two individuals enter into the camera’s view. One suspect goes directly to the car and the other walks in front of the business and looks inside. Investigators believe the two worked together to steal the car, a silver 2006 Toyota Camry. The vehicle has not been recovered.

Storage Building Burglary 7100 Jewella Avenue 18-101554

Shreveport Police seek to identify burglars

On June 21, 2018, multiple people entered a storage building at the Villa Marquis Apartment Complex in the 7100 block of Jewella Avenue and took air conditioner units and supplies valued at more than $1,000.00. The apartment complexes video surveillance system captured the crime as it unfolded. The video showed the suspects arriving in a crew cab pickup truck, possibly a Nissan. They exited the vehicle, entered the storage container, removed the property from within, then fled the property in the pickup truck.

18-089257 Jimmy Granger 1000 Shreveport Barksdale Highway

On May 31, 2018, an unknown individual burglarized the Jimmy Granger Car Dealership in the 1000 block of Shreveport Barksdale Highway. A lone individual was captured on video forcibly entering the main business and office area by using a blunt object to shatter the glass doors. Nothing was taken but the business was damaged. The suspect appeared to be familiar with the business.

Shreveport Police Department July 12, 2018

On July 12, 2018, at 11:33 pm, a Shreveport Police detective was on his way home from a call out and traveling southbound on I-49. Just after the Kings Highway exit, two vehicles collided head-on throwing one of them into his path. The detective, who suffered a concussion, immediately radioed for assistance.

Arriving officers found a vehicle on fire on its side with a man trapped inside. The group of officers, including the detective injured in the crash, worked together to turn the vehicle over and rescue the driver.

Tragically, two others lost their lives in this accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and the young man that was seriously injured.

Police seek to identify home burglar

On May 18, 2018, just after 6:00 p.m., a resident of Woodlawn Terrace Apartment Complex reported their apartment burglarized and a flat screen television and cash taken from within.

Investigators with the Property Crime Unit were assigned to the case and were able to secure video surveillance footage of the suspect leaving the apartment carrying the victim’s television.
Investigators have released the footage in hopes of getting him identified.

18-091114 Home Depot Theft

Band of thieves strikes local home improvement center

On May 30, 2018, the Home Depot Store in the 100 block of East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop reported a theft of nearly $2,000.00 worth of merchandise from their store. A trio of alleged suspects was captured on video and investigators are releasing the footage in hopes of getting them identified. The first suspect was described as a black male wearing a black shirt and blue jeans with a black baseball cap. This man is believed to have served as the “lookout.” The second suspect was wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans and was pulling a shopping cart filled with items. The third suspect was a female wearing a red shirt, dark colored shorts, and a baseball cap. She was also pulling a cart full of items. All three suspects fled the store in at least two separate vehicles.

Investigators are asking the public’s help to identify these individuals.
